trying to replace my old oilfilter.
At the shop they gave me a smaller diameter filter than is on my boat. That is a 2GM.
The old number I used to use is :
119660-35150
they changed it into :
124450-35100
now supposedly it is:
119305-35151 (this is the smaller diameter, 2 3/4" )
I didn't try but I don't think the smaller diameter filter fits on the 2GM.
A quick search online gave another answer.
It seems that they don't make the 35100,
and that it is replaced by Sierra part # sie-7910.
Can anybody give me some insight on this.

The 2GM uses standard spin on filters compatible with the following part numbers: Yanmar Part No. 119660-35150 (Fram PH3593A, Purolator PL14459, AC PF1127, Motorcraft FL-810, Castrol CMP3593A, Quaker State QS3593B)

thanks for all the alternatives, which one of them I am probably going to use.
Still leaves the question open though, which is the correct yanmar#, or do they just don't make them anymore?

I was on the torresen site today but didn't see that link.
Thanks, that explains it all. And now I have to unscrew that oilfilter for a second time and getting the oil all over the place....
I read your oilchange recommendation, and I am getting one of those Pela 2000. It's almost impossible to stay clean ,pump and get the used oil in a bucket.

.

When replacing the filter I place a small metal pie plate with a rag in the bottom right under the oil filter. Still have to wipe off a little oil just under the filter, but not anywhere else.
I also use this trick when changing the primary fuel filter element.

Walmart carries the Fram PH3593A ... under $4 as I remember. It is used on the M15 Universal as well. Yanmar probably just OEMs it from Fram anyway.
