Has anyone obtained an IRC rating for a J-30? I am planning on racing some regattas this year that recommend having an IRC rating. If you do have a certificate, can I get some of the measurements from you? I know this won't get me an endorsed cert., but I think I can get away with un-endorsed for now.

Here is a sheet created from J/Boats with the IRC numbers you will need. There is an IRC siminar this weekend a the J/Boat open house. Is there any questions you want me to bring up?

Thanks for the info. This can help me fill out the form if I decide to get a cert.

I have a J30 in the UK and have raced IRC for the last 10 years with her. The 2005 endorsed IRC rating is 0.924 - We are reasonably competitive on this rating. A fractional J29 with inboard rates at 0.942 giving us 1.8 minutes per 100 minutes of racing. A J92 or X332 rates about 0.990 giving us about 6.6 minutes in 100. I hope this helps.

Additional information to that given above - I race with approx 147% overlap No 1 genoa - If you use 155/16% your rating will be higher.
