here the story
my mastboot is ....well 20 plus years old and was brittle to start out with. One of the great helpers of last years launch stepped on it, as he wanted to wedge it into the right spot...and broke it. I dealt with rain and water all year long, almost got used to it.
Than in Jan i ordered a new one from rig rite ..... didnt show up. I call them ( actually 3 times so far ) get a girl on the phone who cannot tell me if the stuff is in stock, if it has been shipped or if they have my order... She takes my tel number and than promises that somebody from office will call me... doesnt happen of course.

Today I made a copy of rig rite order form and filled it out and faxed it to them, but I do not have to much hope....

I hear that they had a fire.. some 3 months ago.. I dont know, what worse a fire, or incompetent people....

ANyhow.. anybody has one floating around... preferably before I get ready to put the mast back up ..lol

Thanks Thorsten

I've seen a generic mast boot kit available at most boating stores. The kit has a rubber boot and glue (should the boot need to be slit if the mast already is stepped.) You provide the hose clamps and trim it to size.

I've had mixed luck with one of these. The second year I used it, I got a lot of water in the boat whenever it rained. This may have been due to a hose clamp not tight enough. I'm probably going to try putting some sealant on it, and if that fails I'm probably going to break down and buy SparTite.

You should be able to get one from TPI service dept. I did myself a number of years ago.

I've used mast boot tape that works fine. You just need a new piece of tape every year.
