I believe Cannonball's Saturday visit to the protest room was a result of being protested by Fuzzy. I believe the protest was disallowed, not sure the reason. Anyone know Fuzzy to get the story?

Also, Cannonball's race one finish was not a 14 + 40%. It was (not sure of the exact finish but I think top 10)+ 40% for fouling Fat City + 40% for fouling Valhalla.

Seems to me Cannonball sailed in their own "private Idaho" where lies and blatant fouls was part of their rules - unfortunately the jury bought it Saturday.

When a boat takes a penalty others don't move up. The missing number in race one is 14 and they were the only boat taking a penalty. They may have been hit for 2 x 40% but you can't get worse then last+1.

So Gerry, I know Fat City and Smiles worked things out, but any explanation of what Smiles was thinking? Breeze on, maybe 1:45 to the start, port tack into a wall of starboard tackers, pinned under the RC?

As to what Smiles was thinking, you'd have to ask John. I wish I was a mind reader... would make dealing with the wife a LOT easier ;-)
I will say that Avenger was right in front of him (also on port) and maybe blocking his view of what was coming. At the last second, Avenger tacked right in front of us and we had duck to avoid hitting him. We registered a protest against Avenger also but the protest was disallowed because we did not notify him in a timely manner. Probably understandable in the situation but never the less, since he never knew, he did not have a chance to do his turns.
