Does the mainsail have battens?

At least one of the 3 J/30 owners on the boat will have a main with battens.

The Notice of Race for the 2009 J/30 North Americans is posted here in advance of the CPYC Organizing Committee getting their web site up.

This document includes the NOR, additional logistics information (hotels, launching, etc.), and the entry form.

I sailed with the Smiles crew today at CPYC and saw other CPYC J/30 owners there. To help entice people to register, I've attached a picture of the new 5 ton crane that is J/30 lift capable, and a picture of the clubhouse and RC boat.

These are great facilities to host the 2009 J/30 North Americans. Please sign up now!

Bill,

I assume we are hoisting with Straps under the hull and not a bridle.

Has it been tested with a J30 ?

Does anyone have info on trailering a J/30 in CT ?

From the website it appears that a Permit is not needed as the width dimension for CT DOT is 16 feet. Can anyone confirm ?

Thanks Dan Mather

Dan - The best person to answer these questions is John McArthur. John trailers his boat and knows the CT regulations. He is also the person who coordinated the installation of the crane at CPYC. I was just a visitor today sailing on Smiles and took some pictures!
