J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum J/30 Class Association Business Nominations for Class Officers - Elections at 2009 NAs

J/30 Class,

The board of governors will meet sometime during the 2009 North Americans and hold elections for class officers per the class by-laws. We anticipate that the following positions will be open:

• Class President (could be co-presidents)
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Class Measurer

Additionally, each district should plan on holding elections for their 2010 District Governor. This should be done before February 2010.

Please email jmcarthur01@snet.net the name of people to nominate for any of the class officer positions listed above, or submit the nomination as a reply to this posting.

Thanks to all of you who have put in the time and energy as class officers. The prep work for the NAs is a HUGE committment, and we are hoping to see Cedar Point at its best again this year. Bill Kneller also did a fantastic job in Bristol- a one design fleet competing with 27 boats on the startline...after almost 30 years? Not a lot of classes have that participation. Lets get some new blood in there and keep the momentum goin!

I think John wants those nominations directly to him. It would be great if he and Carl want to stay on, but it sounds as though those spots, and others are up to be filled.... or maybe I read that wrong and there is a reason those spots have to be "elected" again..? And there is the question of who else has the time to devote to the job... can a nominated person decline before the meeting, in hopes an alternative is available to be nominated?? Lets get more ideas and folks involved in this!!!

I second John & Carl, but....

we arm twisted Carl & John to continue at the 2008 NAs and they provided notice that it was their last year to serve as class co-presidents.

A bet a case of beverages might change their minds! All jokes aside, we really appreciate what John and Carl have done for the class over the years! Kudos.... The beverages are on us!
