Thanks for the info. I never have enough weight on the rail... that's a constant issue. I moved the step aft a little bit more so it's probably 1.5" aft of the vertical bulkhead in the head. Seemed to help a little bit. I'm always in search of crew, so maybe I'll step it up and look harder.

I'm thinking of using Spartite this time when I pull the mast for maintenance. Currently it is shimmed with wooden wedges. How have people who have used Spartite been able to make it so the mast is in the correct position, and there is enough space to allow the Spartitie to flow when it is poured?

are you planning on doing this on shore or in water ...

the body seems to be distorted sitting on it's keel?

from 2 tons sitting on keel to 1 ton hanging from bottom?

I was thinking of doing it on the hard, but could be convinced otherwise.

you should do it in the water when the air temp is over 70 I used line to tie the mast into position plan on letting it curve for 24 hours before removing the lines and using the boat

Kitchen Cutting boards can work very well (not the wooden one's)_they come in all kinds of thicknesses and different colors (I stick with white) they are bacterial and mildew resistant, and once you find the right thickness you can use a jig saw to cut out the exact shape and profile that you need_you can even leave a longer section at the top so they will "hang" in place (self supported) making it easier to put them in or out.

Has anybody felt the need to try this product and is there success with it. The mast partners don't seem very large to allow for a complete ring around the mast. Any opinions?
I got a Spartite kit with my new boat. It had not been used yet.

installed spartite spring of 2008 and have not had any problems, the rig was set up and tuned before pouring spartite, used very little to fill the space, the mast will be pulled this spring and I am curious to see how it holds up.
