J-30 Sailors:
I want to take a moment to post some initial information about the North American Championship Regatta. This year's event will be held in Annapolis, MD and hosted by the Eastport Yacht Club from Friday Sept. 12 through Sunday Sept 14th. Measurement day will be Thurs. Sept 11. For those of you not familiar with Annapolis, Eastport is the peninsula just across the Spa Creek bridge from the city proper. All of "Crabtown's" amenities are within walking distance of EYC. And for racing, EYC is right on the tip of Sycamore Point, which puts us even closer to the racing venue at the mouth of the Severn River. As a member of EYC and the liaison to the J/30 fleet, I can state that we are committed to putting on a first-class event for our fleet. In the next month, we'll post the Notice of Regatta and information about Annapolis for those coming to town for the regatta. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me and I'll do my best to respond, either directly or here on the Forum for broader dissemination. I'd love to see a dozen out-of-town J/30s come to Annapolis to join our local racing fleet for this, our 24th Championship Regatta.

I think it's wonderful to hold the regatta at Eastport. Annapolis YC was great, bu8t variety is a nice thing too. I'm sure Eastport will do a fantastic job.

Just hope that you don't order a hurricane like the last time I was there.

Do you know if the CB fleet will have any loaners for us out of towners? I'm not sure I want to hassle with Ohio after John McArthurs last trip this way.
