I'll agree wholeheartedly... especially the past weekend. No way could we compete against a maxi-MORC boat in the light stuff.
The NOOD in Chicago has had PHRF sections (almost) from the beginning. It's unfortunate we've been stuck in one the last 2 years. Last year it turned out not to be so bad, there was a bit of wind, and J/30s placed first and second.
The good news is that the Verve Cup in August will likely see a J/30 one-design. We've not been able to do that until last year. So it seems like we're kind of swapping an early season regatta for one later on. The guys from the eastern shore seem to find it an easier trip across the lake when it's warmer.
If there were jobs in Annapolis (or New Orleans for that matter), I'd be willing to consider moving Planxty.
