We replaced out headfoil this fall. (After 25 years of hard service, our original detonated in 25-30) We went through the whole drill. The tuffluff system permits either a 1205 or 1206 over the headstay. Not surprisingly, the 1205 accepts #5 tape and the 1206 #6 tape.
The headfoil-2 system uses the #6 sized foil
only for the J/30 headstay. In theory, #5 tape will work on both the #5 and #6 foils. In pratice, you may find #5 tape pulling free of a #6 foil. You won't get #6 tape up a #5 sized tuffluff.
