1. How the cunningham system configured and attached at both the sail and the boom/mast base? What is the best known configuration?
There is a good picture on
how Rhapsody does it here. We use a stainless steel cunningham hook that goes through a grommet on the main about 1 foot above the tack. The bottom of the cunngingham is attached to a plate riveted at the mast just above the deck where the block for the boom vang adjustment is also attached.
Others have run the cunningham back so it can be controlled by the companionway.
2. How the tack is attached the boom/mast? What is the best known configuration?
There should be a pin that is inserted between the two steel plates through the main tack grommet. See picture below (pin with ring on it).
