J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Anyone had problems with Tach on 2GM?

My tack was intermitent last year, and non-functional this year. For those who have had the same problem, is it usually the cable, the instrument, or something else?

My usual issue is the contacts on the sending unit usually get fouled. I take a wire brush and some fine sandpaper and give them a little cleaning and that solves the issue.

Mine just completely died due to corrosion. But with such a small engine its easy to "hear" 2600rpms....

2600 -- you are a slave driver. that poor little powerplant.
