I buy my parts including this impeller that I picked up 2 weeks ago for a rebuild I'm doing this winter at Oldport Marine in Newport, RI. They are an authorized Yanmar parts supplier. Call 401.847.9109 - Meredith Leblanc can get you this, and just about any other part for your Yanmar. She's good! http://www.oldportmarine.com/ The part numbers are as follows: Yanmar Water Pump Impeller 104211-42070 Yanmar Water Pump Gasket 104211-42090 Look on page 46 of this document and see if it is the same pump you have: http://www.guillermo.ca/pdf/yanmar.pdf Good Luck! Today did my once every seven year belts and impeller on Vee Jay ... impeller looked like it could go another 5 .. but why push it.
Currently it appears that Yanmar has updated the part number for the impeller to 104211-42071 at least thats what the Yanmar dealer in Ft. Myers gave me, the paper gasket number remains the same. This is for the 2GM ... the 2GMF uses a different impeller and a different raw water pump.
I went to AutoZone for the alternator belt as that was close by. As I have been constantly pissed off at the black dust I was happy to see they had a 30 in. belt Duralast Banda V # 13300 that is a tiny bit narrower and seems to fit better into the pulley... and hopefully will not dust up so badly. I will update my experience with this belt in seven years or earlier if it start to fail. I think the belts don't last as long as the impellers. By the way with this 30 in. belt it sits right at the mid point at the alternator adjust arm.
Also noted that the 2GMF spare belt I have is 37 in. long.
Blows my theory of spare parts for the Vee Jays as they have some different motor parts caused by the fresh water cooling on Vee Jay 2.

So OK July 3 I get the no water out the exhaust deal ... and upset that I didn't just change my impellers every year like some owners do. Hey these impellers are supposed to last 1000 hours and I use the motor 50 hours a year here in NPT ... mostly to charge the battery as I'm on a mooring.
Naturally my spare was in the basement at home with the Metric 12 ... I travel light.
so I change the impeller and notice the the inch of hose under the clamp is shot ... that hose was sucking air. Now I have TWO perfectly good used impellers... a lifetime supply. The new one and old spare came with the boat when I bought it last year ... I'm betting that the old spare was the original.
I won't be able to cut another inch off that hose next time.

Don't push your luck. Impellers die of old age or running dry. I had to tow in Dick Rose (as in international rules commitee and dealer for his own boat brand) for a probable bad impeller. The spare doesn't weigh any more than a bottle of beer. If you can't change an impeller you better be able to paddle home. I am a retired marime mechanic of 40 years and am a firm believer in self rescue.

Nothing like puffs of steam to tell you that the impeller has had it. In Naples impellers apparently last 3 seasons. TK in charge. ![[Linked Image]](https://j30.us/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/ubb/download/Number/1702/filename/combo.jpg)

Only four years but hows the Duralast Banda V # 13300 belt doing? Is the one in the pic above or on the other Vee Jay?

it is about 4 years old and showing no sign of grinding away like some of the previous belts ... no cracks or sign of wearing out ... but then again ... it could be I had on the wrong reading glasses when I looked.
I think it came from an auto supply store ... went in with the old belt and out with this one. If I remember I also was able to get it an inch shorter because as I remember the old belts would nearly hit the adjusting limit when they were new. This is #505 here in Naples.
