According to the Yanmar specs the Kanzaki KM2P-1 transmission fits both the 2YM and 2GM series and for the J/30 uses 2.62:1 gear ratio.

When I had Rhapsody the 2GM raw water cooled engine had the oil filter on the port side. I've seen 2YM installations where a removable panel was installed on stbd side to easily access the oil filter. My J/109 with 3YM30 has a removable panel in the head just for that purpose. It's probably easy on the J/30 to use a scroll saw and make a cutout on the stbd side, then screw in a frame on the back to hold a piece of wood that would be removable for the oil change.
