This is probably old stuff, if it is just point me the right way. Removed the stainless boom vang fitting today, discovered that the galvanic action turned 50% of the wall thickness to aluminum oxide, and actually punctured the wall at the deepest point. What is the best class legal fix? Sleeve the boom with an aluminum section rivited to the boom, then re attach the stainless fitting?
